KAGOZ REVIEW POLICY

Introduction

This Review Policy explains how reviews work on Kagoz and the standards all reviewers must follow. Reviews help people in Bangladesh make informed decisions about local businesses by sharing real customer experiences.

By writing a review on Kagoz, you agree to follow this policy and our Terms of Service. Violation of this policy may result in review removal and account suspension.

What Are Reviews

Reviews are written feedback from customers who have experienced a business listed on Kagoz. Reviews include:

  • Star rating (1 to 5 stars)
  • Written comments about your experience
  • Optional photos of the business, products, or services
  • Date when you visited or used the service

Reviews help other customers decide which businesses to contact and help business owners improve their services based on customer feedback.

Who Can Write Reviews

You can write a review on Kagoz if you meet these requirements:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have a verified Kagoz account.
  • You are a real customer who personally experienced the business.
  • You have no financial relationship with the business or its competitors.
  • You are not an employee, owner, or family member of the business.
  • You are not being paid or compensated to write the review.

We verify all reviewers through phone verification to ensure reviews come from real customers, not bots or fake accounts.

Review Verification Process

Every review on Kagoz goes through our verification process:

Phone Verification:

When you create an account, we verify your phone number through SMS code. Only verified phone numbers can write reviews.

AI Fraud Detection:

Our AI system analyzes every review for suspicious patterns including duplicate content, unnatural language, unusual posting patterns, and fake review indicators.

Human Review:

Our team manually reviews flagged content and investigates reported reviews to ensure authenticity.

Business Verification:

We check that the reviewer is not affiliated with the business being reviewed or its competitors.

Reviews that fail verification are not published. Accounts attempting to post fake reviews are permanently banned.

Review Guidelines

All reviews must follow these guidelines to be published and remain on Kagoz.

Based on Real Experience

Your review must be based on your genuine, personal experience as a customer. You must have actually visited the business, purchased products, or used services.

Do not write reviews for businesses you have not personally experienced, businesses you only heard about from others, businesses you are researching but have not visited, or experiences that happened to someone else.

Honest and Accurate

Your review must be truthful and accurate. Do not make false claims, exaggerate positive or negative aspects, include false info about the business, or misrepresent facts to harm or promote the business.

Your Own Words

Write reviews in your own words. Do not copy reviews from other sources, use the same review text for multiple businesses, copy portions of other people's reviews, or use AI-generated text.

Relevant Content

Your review should focus on your experience. Include quality of products/services, customer service, value for money, and cleanliness/environment. Do not include political opinions, personal attacks on owners/employees, irrelevant personal stories, or discussion of other businesses.

Respectful Language

Express your opinion respectfully without offensive language. Do not use profanity, vulgar language, hate speech, discriminatory language, personal insults, name calling, threats, harassment, or sexually explicit content.

You can write negative reviews about poor experiences, but maintain respectful language even when criticizing.

No Conflicts of Interest

Do not review your own business, businesses owned by family members, businesses where you work, competitor businesses to harm them, or businesses offering you compensation. If you have any relationship with a business, you cannot write an unbiased review.

Star Rating Guidelines

Choose a star rating that reflects your overall experience:

  • 5 Stars (Excellent): Outstanding experience that exceeded expectations. You highly recommend this business and would definitely return.
  • 4 Stars (Good): Positive experience with minor issues. You recommend this business and would likely return.
  • 3 Stars (Average): Acceptable experience with some positive and negative aspects. You might or might not return.
  • 2 Stars (Poor): Disappointing experience with significant problems. You do not recommend this business.
  • 1 Star (Terrible): Very poor experience with major issues. You strongly do not recommend this business.

Choose the rating that honestly reflects your experience. Do not give 1 star for minor issues or 5 stars for average experiences.

Photo Guidelines

You can add photos to your reviews to show others what to expect. Follow these photo guidelines:

Acceptable Photos:

  • Clear photos of products you purchased
  • Photos of food you ordered at restaurants
  • Photos of services you received
  • Photos of the business interior or exterior
  • Photos showing the quality or condition

Prohibited Photos:

  • Photos from the internet or other sources
  • Photos of other businesses
  • Photos with personal information visible
  • Photos of people without their permission
  • Inappropriate, offensive, or explicit photos
  • Blurry or low quality photos

Upload photos you personally took. Photos must be in JPG or PNG format under 5MB each.

Prohibited Review Content

We remove reviews containing false information (fake experiences, made up stories, lies), spam (multiple reviews, promo content, links), personal information (full names, phone numbers, addresses, financial/medical data), threats and harassment (violence, legal action, blackmail), illegal content (violation of Bangladesh laws), or discriminatory content (race, religion, gender, disability, etc.).

We have zero tolerance for discrimination. Reviews containing discriminatory content result in immediate account termination.

Updating & Removing

Updating Reviews

You can edit your review after posting to correct errors or update your opinion based on new experiences. Log in to your account, go to your reviews, and click edit. Edited reviews show the last update date. You cannot change reviews more than 3 times.

Removing Your Reviews

You can delete your own reviews anytime. Once deleted, reviews cannot be restored. If you delete your account, your reviews remain on Kagoz but your name is removed.

Business Owner Responses

Business owners can respond to reviews about their business. Business owners cannot delete, hide, or edit your review, or force/compensate you to change it. If a business owner threatens or harasses you, report it to support@kagoz.com immediately.

Reporting Reviews

If you see a review that violates this policy, click "Report" on the review and select the reason. Our team investigates within 48 hours. You can also report by emailing support@kagoz.com with the link and reason.

What We Do Not Remove

We do not remove reviews simply because a business owner disagrees, the review is negative/critical, it mentions competitors, or the business claims it's false without proof. Negative reviews are allowed if they represent genuine customer experiences.

Fake Reviews

Kagoz has zero tolerance for fake reviews (owner-written, employee/family written, paid, bot-generated, or competitor-harming). We use phone verification, AI analysis, and manual checks to detect them. Accounts caught posting fake reviews are permanently banned.

Review Incentives

Businesses cannot offer incentives (discounts, free products, cash, contest entry) in exchange for reviews. If offered compensation, do not write the review and report the business to support@kagoz.com.

Authenticity & Disputes

We verify every reviewer (phone number required), monitor patterns (AI detection), investigate reports, and protect reviewer identity (first name and last initial only displayed). If a business disputes your review, we investigate based on policy and may contact you for evidence.

Frequency & Language

You can review the same business for distinct experiences at least 30 days apart. Both Bengali and English are welcome. Reviews must be readable and coherent.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Review Policy to improve quality standards. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be announced on our website or by email.
