Why We Built Kagoz
In 2021, a client came to our digital marketing agency looking for help. They had spent two hours calling wrong numbers from online directories trying to find an emergency AC repair service in Dhaka. Half the numbers were disconnected. Several businesses had relocated. One had closed three years ago but was still listed.
This was not an isolated incident. As digital marketing consultants working with over 100 Bangladesh businesses, we heard this frustration repeatedly from both sides. Customers could not find accurate business information. Business owners struggled to be discovered by local customers actively searching for their services.
We realized Bangladesh needed a business directory built differently. Not a copy-paste database updated once a year. Not listings with fake reviews and wrong phone numbers. Md Omar Faruk Khan
Kagoz was founded by Md Omar Faruk Khan, an AI-driven SEO strategist with over 10 years of experience in digital marketing and business growth across Bangladesh.
Faruk is the Co-Founder and CEO of Khan IT, a BASIS-registered digital marketing agency that has helped major Bangladesh brands including Walton, HATIL, IFAD Group, and Islami Bank Bangladesh improve their online presence and reach millions of customers.
With 82,000+ subscribers on his YouTube channel where he teaches digital marketing to Bangladesh entrepreneurs, Faruk understands exactly what local businesses need to succeed online and what customers need when searching for reliable services.
He serves as Adjunct Faculty at United International University teaching digital marketing, SEO Mentor at 10 Minute School where he trains the next generation of marketers, and Course Coordinator at Bangladesh Technical Education Board developing national digital marketing standards.
